"Rescue me..."
"You only have to do a very few things right in your life so long as you don't do too many things wrong" - Warren Buffett
Our cartoon hero is uncertain in the first place and as he goes along trying to cover-up the obvious gaps, another obvious mistake is introduced. It all boils down to skills, preparation and being in control of where to go. Many barely manage the daily operations, being drowned in fire fighting and mistakes that accumulate and eventually blow-up.
Often the catastrophes are already in the company DNA and people spend useless hours on palliative treatments, and this gradually deteriorates the company from within, until surgery and toxic treatment are applied by the stakeholders often too late. XOventure prefer to apply "patient-specific" treatment from gene therapy to removing the crumbling symptoms from lack of financing or poor results; in other cases it can also be about knowing when to cut the losses and to sell or merge the assets and create new value. XOventure often saves companies and projects, preferably the acute ill rather than the terminal ill that are running out of cash next Monday – those will hardly stand a chance; we prefer – like Warren Buffett – to invest our time and efforts in healthy companies, the coming stars we believe in, rather than the lost dogs even the founders have lost faith in.
